This rare 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona NART Spider is up for auction

Just in time for Christmas as well…

One of Italy's most prolific automotive designers was called Giovanni Michelotti, and in 1971 he created the beautiful Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Spider for the North American Racing Team (NART) principal Luigi Chinetti.

This beauty was actually one of five to be commissioned by Chinetti and is largely based on the Ferrari 365 GTB/4.

Although the body shape is still that of the original design, the doors were cut down, a targa top was fitted with a tan soft top. This coupled with the dark blue exterior gives the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Spider its unquestionable beauty.

As one final touch to add to its appeal and heritage, the 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona NART Spider was inscribed with Chinetti's wife's name 'Marion' above each door handle.

The auction will be held in Arizona in January 2019 and let's be honest this won't be going cheap, and so it shouldn't. A beautiful car and a tribute to the genius of the great Giovanni Michelotti.

What do you think? Heading to Arizona in January?

  • The back makes it look like a Ferrari kit car- the interior a bit too.

  • Arse end is gross! As is the dashboard.

Sorry . . . seen nicer looking Ferraris than this. Don't care how rare it is . . . it's not nice to look at from most angles.
