This ultra rare bavarian beast could be yours
This BMW 8 series received a very special treatment by Alpina- and could be yours
If you´re into BMWs you have probably already heard of Alpina, a german tuning company dedicated to transforming stock cars into wild beasts, whilst keeping a subtle look. This is also true for the Alpina B12. Alpina used their proven recipe to turn 57 BMW 850 CSis into blazing fast machines, ready to take on anything they might encounter on the Autobahn. The german engineers managed to squeeze 34 additional PS out of the originally 380 PS strong 5.6 liter 12-cylinder engine by upgrading it to 5.7 liters, resulting in 418 PS. Additionally, they derestricted the top speed, which enabled the 2-door coupé to speed down the Autobahn at 300 km/h. Alpina also added some goodies to the in- and exterieur of the vehicle like lightweight 18` aluminium rims, Alpina badges, a subtle front lip and much more.
If you´re on the hunt for a fast, comfortable and yet stealthy jewel of 1990´s german engineering, it might be your lucky day. The exact same car you can see in the picture will be auctioned at RM Sotheby´s on Feburary 5th, 2020. It has ran just over 9.000 kilometers and seems to be in prestine condition. Before you ask: Yes, this car does come with a hefty price tag. Being one of only 57 B12s worldwide, collectors from all over the world are lusting after this blue pearl and Sotheby´s estimates its´value to range from 300.000 to 350.000€. In the end however, it´s going to be the bids that determine the car´s real value. What do you think? Is this price tag appropiate? Or is it just way to much money for an elderly BMW? That looks awesome
That’s what I’m thinking as well. I love Alpina cars in general, they are so good looking.
