Three Ferraris bounce off each other on the highway

Repairs will cost an arm, a leg and maybe more

What better way to enjoy a supercar than at full speed? This is the only way that the vocals of its noble mechanics can be expressed to the full. Ideally, this should be done on a circuit in complete safety, because when you are on the public highway with other road users, the task can quickly turn sour.

The driver of a Ferrari 488 GTB learned this the hard way. During the Supercar Show in Philadelphia, the driver of the Italian supercar got a little too carried away on a stretch of highway. He didn't see the slowdown ahead of him and violently counter-steered at the very last moment.

The person actually avoided a collision with the vehicle he was following, but hit another one in the next lane. And unluckily, that vehicle was also a Ferrari, an expensive 488 Pista. In the process, the latter bounced and coincidentally hit a third Ferrari, a 458 Italia.

While no one was injured in the accident, the extent of the overall damage has yet to be assessed.

  • this is the problem with people who think because they spent X amount of money, physics no longer apply.. :-(

Look how fast those vehicles are zipping by on camera. Everyone knows footage from a camera appear slower than it was in real life. This guy must've been doing 240-260km/h on a busy public highway.

I feel sorry for the machinery... :-(

    • For this event they close the highway. The traffic is actually all super cars and so they are all trying to show up everyone else.

  • Many people seem to forget that it's a RWD,they should have proceeded with caution.
