Three-Wide Crash At Spa Halts Lamborghini Super Trofeo Race
At least one driver reportedly suffered a wounded leg; two others walk away safely
In one of the support races for this year's Total Spa 24 Hours, a massive three-car crash forces a red flag for race two of a round of Lamborghini's one-make Super Trofeo championship.
Championship points leader Kevin Gilardoni (n.11, pink bonnet), who won in Race 1, got squished between Jonathan Cecotto (n.7, multi-colour) to the left and Raul Guzman (n.41, black) to the right, triggering a crash that sent Cecotto and Guzman flying into the barriers, forcing red flags and ending the race.
Both Cecotto and Gilardoni are unscathed; Guzman is suspected to have a leg injury but is otherwise conscious.
The accident has also delayed the start of the main Spa 24hr to 4:00 pm local in order to repair the smashed-in section of barrier in the run down the Eau Rouge-Radillion complex (where the GT cars start racing).
