Thrift Stores Are Keeping Me Sane
That's my story and I'm sticking with it...
The Pandemic has temporarily made flea markets an endangered species. The markets themselves are caught in a catch-22. Less people means they have to charge more just to make their fees back, and higher prices make people stay away.
So, thrift stores are seeing an uptick in us flea shoppers, we gotta have our fix. I go safely, of course, mask, gloves, sanitizer on the way in and the way out. And then again in my car...lol
I showed up at my favorite store en masque, and saw more carded cars in the bags than I'd ever seen before, it was crazy. Someone must have donated one helluva collection. I wound up spending $14 on 14 cars and I could have gone a lot higher. Bags with 3 cars were all $2.99, no matter what was inside. Bags with 2 cars were $1.99, no matter what.
I really wanted that '56 Chevy, still scratching my head on the Escort...
Like I said, it was crazy (for a thrift store...).
