A look into one of the most insane tuner cars of the 2000's, with meticulous aero work and 900 horsepower under the hood.

Abflug sits comfortably among the likes of JUN, TRIAL TBO, VeilSide, and many others as one of the greatest Japanese tuners of all time; and has made some of the wildest tuner cars to come out of Japan. And in 2001, their toyota supra-dubbed the S900-was no exception.

As you can see in the photos, this is no ordinary supra. Extensive bodywork was done to the car, featuring an array of diffusers, ducts for brake cooling, vents in the hood to improve the breathing of the engine, and a duck tail spoiler integrated into the bodylines.

to make it even cooler: this aero wasn't just for show either, it was tested in a wind tunnel to 300kph. fully functional, and Abflug is one of the rather few bodykit manufacturers who actually test their kits in a wind tunnel, so you know it's legit. But how does this thing reach speeds that high in the first place? well i'm glad you asked. here's a hint: the 900 in S900 was added for a reason...

As you can see in this video, the car is tuned to around 900 horsepower with the help of HKS turbos, a titanium exhaust, ventilation work and an Abflug fuel managing system; hence giving it the S900 name. and with this 900 horsepower, it screams its way to 355kph (220mph) as well as running the quarter mile in an astonishing 10.1 seconds.

i miss this era, cars used to look so unique and exciting, it's rare to see something as raw and wild as this these days. this car remains one of my favorite tuner demo cars of all time. what tuner car is your favorite?

  • It's not that nice in my opinion, but I'm sure it appeals to some people and I will respect that
