Tickford Mustang Bathurst '77 Special "Build #1" is for sale
Two years ago I gave a job interview at my favourite V8 Supercar team - Tickord Racing. I did not get the job, however, while I was there I saw a Tickford Mustang Bathurst ’77 special. It was beautiful but admittedly, at that time I was more interested in getting the job than the car.
It's a Mustang that has been lowered, and the 5.0 litre engine tuned and supercharged to produce 727 horsepower. It's “Build #1”, the first of 77 of the Tickford Mustang Bathurst ’77 special. All the editions including this one sports the livery of Allan Moffat’s Falcon XC, that he drove at Bathurst in 1977.
The '77 livery is iconic, the white body with red and blue stripes flowing on the body of the car, with a black bonnet. All cool cars have a black bonnet. In the interior, you will see a lot of custom work including dual colour stitching throughout the interior with red and blue stripes on the seats and on the 12 o'clock marker position on the steering wheel.
The “Build 1” car is set for auction as part of a private collection. When it was first available in 2017 it cost you a pricey sum of $170,000, which did include Allan Moffat’s signature on the build plate. Now this car is going to cost you a bit more than the $170,000.
P.S: Still hate the fact I did not get that job.
