TODAY IN HISTORY
After showing dominance in the first race of the 1979 F1-season in Argentine, Jacques Laffite continued his display of French ferocity at the Brazilian GP. Laffite took pole-position, taking seven (!) seconds off of the 1975 pole-time, set the fastest lap and led the race from start to finish. All that in the beautiful Ligier-Ford JS11. This dominance wasn't to be, as Ferrari managed to catch up on Laffite once the circus arrived in Europe.
