10. Mercedes AMG GT R PRO

Packed to the brim with AMG's latest Motorsport technology, the GT R is the German manufacturer's answer to it's closest rival, the Porsche 911 GT3. The GT R's 577bhp engine has a beastly tone and a feeling of acceleration that the GT3 cannot match. The amplified areo kt makes for better handling, very thoughtful when considering past AMG's have been associated with the image of being an explosion of tyre smoke and loud noises.

9. BMW M4 GTS

BMW's M division really have pushed the limits of the spots car with their spruced up edition of the M4. With the engine being at the front and it being rear wheel drive makes for an immersive driving experience. The handling is a key point of where it stands out from it's rivals however, the engine (a six-cylinder engine) feels a bit unworthy of the £120k+ price tag. The gearbox is not that good on the road and the ride is quite harsh, on the plus side, the stiff ride ensures the car feels extremely responsive through the bends.

8. Lotus Exige Cup 430

Lotus' most fastest street legal car has a supercharged V6 engine developing 430bhp, this coupled with the weight of 1056 kg, means it'll reach 0-62mph in 3.3 seconds. The top speed of 180 ensures you'll be going faster for longer and is over a second quicker around Lotus' test track than the car it replaces. The 430 feels engaging no matter where you drive it and still demonstrates Lotus' intention to establish themselves as a modern British manufacturer. The cars handling is exemplary due to it's clever suspension system and amazing agility

7. Lamborghini Aventador SVJ

The meaning behind the added 'J' to the cars name was to make it the second car that wore the 'jota' name since Wallace Miura, a legendary racing driver and is the reason Lamborghini called their first supercar the 'Miura'. This car is as hard to drive as it is searingly intimidating to gaze at. A rather cramped and dated cabin forces you to look out the windscreen and concentrate on how to contain the 770 horses that are fed to the wheels. The SVJ gives you an unfiltered and raw experience that shoots up your adrenaline and gets the blood coursing through your veins.

6. Lamborghini Huracan Performante

The 630bhp, lightweight, four wheel drive Lamborghini is faster, corner by corner than a McLaren P1, a Porsche 918 and a Bugatti Veyron. This is evident proof how much of a poised racing machine the Performante is. The howling naturally aspirated V10 engine provides notes that are too good to describe and every shift of it's double clutch gearbox is simply exquisite. The Huracan really has no competition as it boasts pure speed with bleeding emotion.

5. McLaren 675 LT

McLaren's highly esteemed Longtail name has been on the back of cars that are genuinely insane to drive and usually, quite innovative as well. Having perfected the hypercar market with the P1, McLaren decided to cater to the sports car market with the 675 LT. The Woking based firm added 25bhp to the twin turbo V8 and gave it modified aerodynamics that increased it's downforce levels by 40%. The 675 LT also utilised it's bewitching electronic aiding systems to perfectly tune the best driving experience possible.

4. Porsche 911 GT2 RS

The worlds most loved sports car turned savage. This is the GT2 RS in a nutshell. Being Porsche's fastest 911 with a 690bhp engine and a top speed of 211mph. This car aims to establish a sense of brute force and pure enjoyment h=that the 911 Turbo S cannot match. There is no turbo lag, making for instant power delivery and it's dynamic areodynamics mean that the GT2 RS is one of the quickest production cars you can buy right now. Porsche's decision to be skimpy with the weight improves handling and therefore has all the ingredients for it to be a proper drivers car.

3. Ferrari 488 Pista

The hefty £250k price tag may not look appealing but this masterpiece from the technicians at Ferrari is truly something to behold. The successor to the phenomenal 458 Speciale had huge shoes to fill as the imprint left by the 458 touched the hearts of many petrolheads. The extremely rapid dual-clutch gearbox changes gear faster than you can blink and if you are brave enough, the way the Pista drifts with seamless control is a work of utter elegance. It is undoubtedly one of the most poised and balanced cars you can buy.

2. McLaren 600 LT

Yet another McLaren on this list but there is good reason for it. The 600 LT was voted Britain's Best Drivers Car in 2018, proving itself to be a gracious all-rounder. The 600 LT is a beautifully designed car and has the perfect balance between being a hard core super car and an engaging sports car. The 600 LT is the 3rd in it's 'Longtail' series and by far the most breathtaking. The stiffer dampers and new body and revised aerodynamics provide an exceptional cornering ability. As with any track honed car, all unnecessary weight has been ditched to provide a purer drive and a more engaging experience.

1. Porsche 911 GT3 RS

There was no surprise in guessing this one taking the top spot. The supreme track focused 911 gives the driver complete enjoyment and provides a scintillating experience. This car may seem strange as Porsche make models with much more power than this (493bhp) but nothing can amount to its extreme poise and composure when cornering and accelerating. A symphony of grip, speed and agility is what gives the GT3 RS the edge over it's rivals. The 911 range continues to impress petrolheads worldwide.
