Top 7 Unique and Odd Vehicles Used by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Here's a look at 7 vehicles that have been used in the past by the RCMP. They're all unique and creative choices for becoming a police vehicle.
There's a lot of options for a police department when they're choosing their next vehicle. In North America, Ford, Dodge or Chevrolet are usually the vehicle brands of choice. Especially Ford with the Taurus, Crown Victoria and Explorer. However, sometimes it almost appears that police departments like the RCMP decide to get a little more creative on what their next new vehicle should be. Here we look at 7 old RCMP and unique vehicles that were once used by the RCMP.
#7 The PT Cruiser.
2003 PT Cruiser.
It's an odd choice for a police vehicle. It certainly isn't fast and its looks will kill the and fugitive faster than bullets but you have to admit it's a creative choice for a police car.
#6 The Volkswagen Beetle
Volkswagen Beetle
This one thankfully was never an official police car, it was just something used at the Depot training centre in Saskatchewan for most likely demonstrations. It's merely a waste of public tax dollars.
#5 The Chevrolet Camaro
Chevrolet Camaro
This is actually a really neat choice for a police vehicle and you certainly wouldn't see today in the RCMP's vehicle inventory. However, this police Camaro was used in eastern and western Canada for highway traffic enforcement.
#4 The Ford Mustang
Ford Mustang
Much like the Camaro, it is a fast (in its time) police vehicle most likely used for highway traffic enforcement. However, it might be a bit difficult putting someone in the back.
#3 The Jaguar S Type
Jaguar S Type
I'm unclear if this was ever an actively used police vehicle or if it was just for show but having a Jaguar police car in North America is certainly unique in its own class.
#2 The Audi
Audi
Another European vehicle used by the RCMP. Like the Jaguar, it's unclear if this ever saw the road for active policing but it's another unique choice for a Canadian police car without a doubt.
#1 The Toyota Prius
Toyota Prius
Wow certainly sums up the expression for this vehicle. This must have been a vehicle used as a form of punishment for officers who misbehaved. I know I wouldn't drive this voluntarily. If I were a criminal I'd probably think twice about committing a crime in fear of having to ride in the back of this.

The Camaro is my favorite, but it's still not as cool as the Crown Vics.
Meh the Crown Vics look kinda bland... great cars to drive and own, but to look at? Nah
It maybe isn't a beautiful car as such, but I think it looks very cool and I love GM's and Ford's big sedans from the 90s.
why did they use jaguars?
Couldn't tell you. I believe it was done through a partnership program with Jaguar.
probably. they are to expensive
PT cruiser????? HAHA 😂😂😂😂
