If you've ever found yourself wandering around a lot searching for a new car, then you know how stressful it can be. However, one of the best tools in a buyers disposal, is leverage and iSeeCars.com is here to help with that.

iSeeCars.com is an automotive research firm and have released a new report that analyzed over 700,000 new cars for sale across the country to determine the 2020 models that have sat and are just waiting to be purchased for a lower price.

Karl Brauer, executive analyst at iSeeCars, had this to say in the report, "When looking at the inventory in 2021, there is a 9.5 percent less new car inventory from the current model year compared to the same time last year. This is likely because automakers had to delay releases of their new vehicles and because inventory hasn't completely stabilized. These cars not only provide negotiation opportunities right now, but many of these vehicles can present even greater savings opportunities as more 2021 vehicles enter the pipeline."

Ford dominated the top of the list, according to Brauer, stiff competition within it's own product line led to models such as the Ford Escape being overlooked for the new Ford Bronco.

The average models had 22% of their inventory still available, while the top models had 90% of their inventory still available.

The top 10 2020 models that may give buyers the best leverage are;

10). Buick Envision - Percentage of 2020 inventory available: 51.1%

9). Dodge Charger - Percentage of 2020 inventory available: 51.2%

8). Ford Ranger - Percentage of 2020 inventory still available: 51.5%

7). Chrysler 300 - Percentage of 2020 inventory still available: 52%

6). Hyundai Santa Fe - Percentage of 2020 inventory still available: 57.7%

5). Ford Expedition Max - Percentage of 2020 inventory still available: 59.2%

4). Ford Expedition - Percentage of 2020 inventory still available: 61%

    • The only real surprise here for me is the ranger, I would've thought thatd sell like hotcakes. But I guess Europeans still don't want a pickup, the Japanese just buy a Toyota, and the Americans wouldn't bother with a midsize when they can get...

  • Is the Ford Escape thing due to them just building too many? I've seen lots of them around, so it doesn't seem like they're having trouble moving them.
