Jordi Torres has risen to the top of the standings after claiming his victory of the season.

The ENEL FIM MotoE season finale kicked off with race one of two, with Jordi Torres (HP Pons 40), the reigning World Cup winner, claiming his first victory of the season and taking the lead in the standings by 8 points advantage over Dominique Aegerter (Dynavolt Intact GP), who finished 0.160seconds behind. Starting from the pole position to the finished line, the Spaniard shines through with style.

Mattia Casadei (Ongetta SIC58 Squadracourse) came in third, followed by Matteo Ferrari (Indonesian E-Racing Gresini MotoE) in fourth, and rookie Miquel Pons and his LCR Team teammate, Kevin Zannoni finished in fifth and sixth, respectively.

Fermin Aldeguer (OpenBank Aspar Team), Lukas Tulovic (Tech3 E-Racing), Yonny Hernandez (Octo Pramac MotoE), and Andorra’s Xavi Cardelus (Avintia Esponsorama Racing) rounding out the top ten.

Alessandro Zaccone (Octo Pramac MotoE), the former World Cup leader and one of the title favourites, crashed out on the opening lap after colliding with Hikari Okubo (Avant Ajo MotoE). The Italian has stretchered off the track and taken to the medical centre.

Otherwise, it was a disaster race for Eric Granado (One Energy Racing), after nudged himself in front of Torres and ended up gutted. Mathematically, he can still win the World Cup title if he wins the race finale and all of the riders ahead in the standings finish far behind him.

Only one rider will be crowned for the FIM ENEL MotoE 2021 World Cup Champion. One of the top four riders still has their last huge chance in the race finale tomorrow. Don’t miss out on the FIM ENEL MotoE 2021 second race in Misano, which begins at 15:30 local time.
