Traxxas unveils very real looking Ford Bronco rock crawler
A very cool and very capable rock crawler for your backyard adventures
If you are into R/C vehicles or have been around motorsports for a while, then you will be familiar with Traxxas. The Texas based remote control model manufacturer is famous for making incredibly cool vehicles and now they're upped the cool factor with their newest model. The Ford Bronco.
This model is an exact replica of the original and approved by Ford themselves. It's built on the Traxxas TRX4 off road platform, which also underpins a Land Rover Defender model. All of that means that the Bronco comes with remote locking front and rear differentials as well as high/low range transmission for "unmatched driving versatility."
But wait, there's more. It has a 5000-mAh iD LiPo battery pack under the body that provides enough juice for up to two hours of run time. The drivetrain and battery are integrated into the chassis to ensure a 52 degree approach angle and a 49 degree departure angle for a proper off road experience.
There are a wide range of accessories available for the Bronco, but the most impressive comes in the form of a remote controlled winch. Beyond being a cool looking accessory, it has practical features. It has a heavy duty metal hook and a high torque motor for a maximum towing capacity of 10 pounds, 4.5 kilograms.
Traxxas is also offering a separate body for the Bronco incase yours ends up broken. It has all of the exterior features of the original, grille, side mirrors, door handles and fender flares and that will run you $144.99. The full R/C Bronco will run you around $549.95 and when you consider the possibilities of what you could do with it, the price is definitely worth it.
