TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge out now

The wait is over for the latest official game of the world's most dangerous race. Having been delayed once, TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge is now available on Xbox One and PS4.

The game features, rather unsurprisingly, a digital version of the 37.73-mile circuit located on the Isle of Man, with all 264 corners said to be recreated in exceptional detail including the famous Snaefell mountain section.

Gaming content appears rather thin on the ground, mainly because there are only nine fantasy courses to practice on before you attempt to win the main Isle of Man TT event using one of 24 riders and 38 bikes.

Perfecting times that would upset TT legend John McGuiness may be enough for some though, given the difficulty in averaging 130mph around the highly dangerous road-based circuit. It is, after all, a race that has unfortunately claimed the lives of many riders.

Developer Kylotonn Games has at least added an eight-player multiplayer mode to let you show off your skills, or perhaps highlight the fact you are a bit rubbish.

Getting hold of a review code has proven difficult and it appears other motoring and gaming titles are having the same issue (or don't care for motorbikes) because there are barely any reviews to go on. The cynical journalist inside us fears this may be related to the quality.

We did, however, find an IGN Spain review that claims the experience is great but that there is too little content to provide meaningful longevity. It also seems like most major retailers are out of stock, in the UK at least, but you can buy it on the Xbox Store for £44.99.

TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge was scheduled for release in November, 2017. But it was decided that more time was needed to perfect the physics system for the bikes and so it was delayed until March the following year.
