  • So a Tesla that has more torque and power overtook some other cars on straight sections of track.

    And that means what exactly?

I’d take any of those other three cars over the Tesla. Being the fastest isn’t the be all and end all of motoring.

    • I'd get a Tesla Model S Plaid and drive in circles around you while drinking a can of pop and listening to my favourite music with the air-con on and making farting noises as I irritate you by driving with my indicators on!

    • It may not be the "be all end all of motoring" - but going faster on a race track is kind of what being on a race track is all about.

  • I do like the Tesla, I thik it is brilliant. The thing is how many laps would you get out of it at that pace. The Petrol cars will all win the race as even with a supercharger; 45 minute pit times kills the trackability. The P100d would go into limp mode due to overheating after 1 or 2 laps also. So I imagine the plaid will too. It would not even be a good hobby track day car for that very reason.

    • I do think it is cool, I just wonder in performance mode hard on the throttle how many miles will you get before draining the battery. Also how long before "the computer says NO!" and kills the power due to excessive motor heat or battery heat....

  • I don't care how quick a Tesla is, it will never be cool or properly fun.
