With many owners coming to the end of their 2-year 'no resale' agreements on the Ford GT, a number of examples are now starting to pop up across the internet for sale, with many commanding a hefty premium over their original sale price.

Take this one-off example, with a list price of $545,450 it is already well exceeding that on the Bring a Trailer auction listing, with a current price of $810,000 at the time of writing.

While that is an astronomical price, what makes it even more surprising is that this is a one-off, custom-painted example. Ordered in a bespoke shade of light blue (to the tune of $30,000) it is unlike any other Ford GT on the planet. There are also a number of attractive options spec'd on the car, including the $15k carbon-fibre wheels.

The callipers of the Brembo brakes (six-piston at the front and four-piston at the rear) are painted orange to contrast the blue paintwork, and to match the orange leather accents inside the cabin.

Inside, the interior carries the 'Launch Control' cabin configuration, including fixed-position seats with black leather and orange accents, along with plenty of exposed carbon fibre accents wherever you look.

Powering the GT is Ford's twin-turbo 3.5l V6, putting out 647hp and 550 lb/ft of torque to the rear wheels. With 4000 miles on the clock, this GT has been driven more than most, so it was clearly owned by someone that appreciated the mechanics of the car. With a day left to run, it will be interesting to see what the final selling price of this example is.

  • These motors were built to be driven. I’m so tired of seeing these fine specimens being garaged for their entire existence. What a waste.

  • There is no doubt these cars will be valuable for a long time. Sad that so few will be daily driven!

    • Be honest, if you had this would you daily it and risk some chuckle head hitting you? I might take it on an occasional weekend trip in the mountains or coastal ride but never a daily.

    • I know. It’s sad.

  • If purchased for investment purposes and occasional driving - such as what Jay Leno does - then this car should find a nice home.

Maybe some youthful YouTuber or someone with money (who has no concern for prolonging the lifespan of this car) will buy it, modify it, race it around and ultimately tear it up or wreck it.
