US Racing were dominating in qualifying with their four drivers securing the first two rows, with Kim Luis Schramm on pole position followed by Nicklas Nielsen Fabio Scherer and Julian Hanses for the first race of the Lausitzring weekend. For the second one, Hanses secured his first pole position, with Scherer in second and Nielsen in third. Schramm will start the race down in fifth.

But the joy about the success of the team received a dampener after scrutineers identified an irregularity on the number 13, 18, 27 and 28 vehicles of US Racing. On all four cars, a camber shim had not been fitted to the front right wheel suspension.

The German squad has filed an appeal against this decision which has a delaying effect. All four drivers are therefore allowed to take their starting positions gained in qualifying for races four and five of the season.

The results of the fourth, fifth and sixth rounds of the 2017 ADAC Formula 4 at Lausitzring will remain provisional, until Germany's motor racing governing body DMSB has made a final decision after a hearing in front of the Court of Appeal.
