With Charles Weerts and Frederik Vesti, Van Amersfoort Racing welcomes two experienced ADAC F4 drivers within the team who are joined by three new faces on the German grid Joey Alders, Lucas Alecco Roy and Liam Lawson.

Frederik Vesti had already competed with Van Amersfoort Racing last year, gaining three podium places. The Dane will be teaming up with another well-known face of the F4 series: Charles Weerts.

Weerts made his debut with Motopark last year, finishing as runner up in the Rookie Championship, with 3 class victories and 10 second places. During the winter, Weerts raced in the Formula 4 United Arab Emirates (UAE) Championship for the second time and even won the title.

"Van Amersfoort Racing's performance records speak for itself and I can hardly wait until the season starts. I am ready to show my skills in the German F4 Championship again. With the help of Jeroen and his team, my aim is obviously to be out in front", said the 16-year-old Belgian.

Reigning karting champion Joey Alders from the Netherlands joined the team during the winter tests in Barcelona and Valencia in December 2017. "It is a great chance growing into single seater racing.

Racing with a Netherlands based team as a Dutchman makes it even more special. I want to be directly competitive. The experiences so far and the smooth collaboration with the team gives me all the confidence I need", declared Alders.

The biggest step is made by German Lucas Alecco Roy, who already was engaged full-time in equestrian sports as a talented dressage rider just 15 months ago. In only his second season in motorsport, the 21-year-old is now ready for his new challenge with the 160 horsepower ADAC Formula 4 car.

Roy gained first experience in the British F4 Championship last season. "This will be an exciting new step in my racing career. The experience of Jeroen and his team will be of great value in my ambition to be an even more competitive driver", he explained.

New Zealand's Liam Lawson completed the Dutch outfit in late February this year. Lawson, who recently turned 16, previously won the New Zealand Formula Ford Championship and finished runner-up in the Australian Formula 4 series 2017.

"Ever since I was very young I dreamed of racing in Europe and trying to get to Formula One, so this is the very first step in making that dream come true. I will give everything to make a successful season for myself, the team and my backers", Lawson concluded.

Next to extensive winter testing at Lausitzring and Hockenheimring, along with the official test at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben this week, the drivers will also step into the racing simulator at the headquarters in Zeewolde on a regular basis to be perfectly prepared for the forthcoming season.

The 2018 season of the ADAC Formula 4 Championship contains 7 events with 3 races each. The season kicks off on April 13th at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.
