Vice Grip Garage drove another broken car for 700 miles through a snowstorm
Because that's the best thing to do with a car that hasn't run in a decade right?
Leave it up to Derek of Vice Grip Garage to throw away logic for the sake of entertainment. That's why I love this guy.
Now you might remember Derek's Corvette from some of his recent videos. You know, the one he fixed up and then immediately took to a burnout event. Yeah, that one. Turns out he traded that questionable vehicle for an even more questionable vehicle, a 1968 Pontiac Firebird that hasn't run in 10 years and has several known issues.
The logical thing to do with a car whose condition is unknown and has no heater is to take it on a 700-mile journey home through a snow storm. After closer inspection, it seems as if this Firebird's flame went out some time ago. The interior is falling apart, there's no headliner, the tires are dry rotted, and the transmission fluid is full of metal shavings. Two 15-hour days of work later, the car runs just well enough for the journey home to start.
I'd hate to spoil all the details, but let's just say the adventure involves a blown tire, a space heater hot-wired to the battery, a butane torch for a defroster, and many cans of Berryman's. Go watch the whole thing for yourself. Trust me, it's an experience.
