Video: classic Dodge Charger takes to the skies
Them Duke boys are back at it again... Scratch another '69 Charger
How do you go about opening a huge hot rod show like the Detroit Autorama? Well, this year – instead of a ribbon-cutting ceremony or a parade – the organisers decided to recreate a stunt from The Dukes of Hazzard.
Spectators to the opening of the Autorama got to see a '69 Dodge Charger, like that featured so prominently in the classic TV series, make a bid for freedom – via a rather large ramp.
Here's the same stunt, shot from a different angle. With no pristine star car and editing suite to work TV magic, it's clear how much damage the Dodge really incurs.
One thing's for sure: they won't be using that Charger again any time soon.
So, did you enjoy the video – or are you just annoyed to see another collectable classic scrapped for the sake of a moment's entertainment? Sources state that the car was past saving, but it sure looked like it had some life left in it.
Jumped Chargers have been restored (well, completely rebuilt) before, though, so it might not be the end of this particular car's story...

I was there when this happened. The sources are correct, this car was beyond repair before they jumped it. I talked to the drivers and they have another front assembly to put on it. They expect to be ready to jump it again in 3-5 weeks.
Hi Tamara,i loved it too!,I'd watch it with Mum,Dad and my sister!,the car was amazing,i concur!!,All Hail the Grand Duke of Hammond!!!,🤓🙏🏼🙏🏼👍🏻🤴😘❤️
It'll buff out !
I actually talked to the guys that did it afterwards, and they plan on repairing it and using it again for the third time! The charger is a rusty mess anyhow and the lights and details are all cardboard.
I suppose that if they put a couple of sacks of potatoes in the trunk, it would have landed better. Still good to see though.
