All just one big family, apparently

After a recent scathing instagram post from actress Michelle Rodriguez referencing the Fast and Furious franchise, Vin Diesel (the poster boy for the franchise) has spoken out to set the record straight.

Rodriguez had initially stated that she was worried about the portrayal of women in the action series and that strong female roles were slowly being hidden as the films grow and grow. In her social media post she stated "F8 is out digitally today, I hope they decide to show some love to the women of the franchise on the next one. Or I just might have to say goodbye to a loved franchise".

Her on-screen love interest is Dominic Toretto, the main character portrayed by Vin Diesel, and the two of them have now taken to instagram again to set things right. Many speculators thought that the comments by Rodriguez may have been directed at Diesel, but thankfully the post says otherwise.

The video features Vin and Michelle, with 'Letty' explaining that her comments were very much not directed at Vin which maybe shows her post was more aimed at the director of the franchise, Gary Gray. The video ends with some playful banter between the two of them, showing that there are no hard feelings.

This makes it look more heated than it actually is...

  • The only scene I enjoyed in Fast 8 was the first one in Cuba. It was the only proper street racing in it and whilst the action sequences are something to be admired, fast and furious should be more about cars, the culture surrounding them and the people associated with cars. The characters we once all loved have gone from good hearted street racers to government paid assassins. It's not right and the furious franchise should either go back to racing, or stop entirely.

  • It's has gotten WAY TOO FAKE anyway.. TOO MUCH C.G.I. involving fake stunts never possible in real life... Let it be finished as far as I'm concerned. I'm tired of leaving the theater shaking my head.

  • They are long overdue... I believe it’s time to pull the plug and let it slowly die. They went from illegal streetracers to a small private army defending the world, end it... please.

    • All the films are woeful, mindless garbage that does nothing for the Car Community, a sad indictment on society as a whole, when total crap like this does so well.... What happened to acting etc...?
