Volkswagen has just announced that it will be launching at least one EV every year from now. CEO Ralf Brandstätter has said that “in the coming years, we will change Volkswagen as never before.”
VW's new strategy is called 'Accelerate'. Under the new strategy, the German brand has pledged that more than 50% of its sales in the US and China and 70% in Europe will be fully electric by 2030.
CEO Brandstätter also announced that Volkswagen will make an investment in autonomous driving systems and look to be "the most desirable brand for sustainable mobility."
The EV road map previewed shows that we will see the ID.4, then the ID.5 SUV and ID.6 followed by the ID.Buzz and Aero B with a small BEV rounding up things by 2030.
CEO Ralf Brandstätter said: “Volkswagen is taking responsibility for the climate and will significantly exceed the planned EU regulation. Of all the major manufacturers, Volkswagen has the best chance of winning the race. While competitors are still in the middle of the electric transformation, we are taking big steps toward digital transformation”.
