ROADS is more than just an app, it’s a community. Porsche has created this new software to bring together passionate drivers from all around the world to discover and share the most beautiful landscapes and explore the greatest stretches of asphalt.

Last year, ROADS inspired well-known travel blogger Sebastian Canaves to drive a 718 Cayman GTS along the Wild Atlantic Way through northwest Ireland. The app guided him on a 270km route through vibrant towns and small villages, along the 600 metre-high sea cliffs of Slieve League and over twisting passes through the wild and rugged Irish countryside.

Sebastian Canaves has exploring in his DNA. He’s been publishing his “Off the Path” blog since 2011 and regularly shares travel recommendations with his worldwide fanbase. Using the ROADS recording function, Canaves shared this route with the app’s growing community, alongside other recent trips along the Baltic Sea coast and across the Black Forest from Baden-Baden to Munich. All ROADS users can now drive and rate these routes themselves, thanks to the integrated turn-by-turn navigation. And anyone who follows Sebastian Canaves on the app is updated whenever he posts new routes.

“Doing a journey like this by car gives you a very special feeling: the absolute freedom to drive wherever the road takes you,” says Canaves. “With ROADS, I can share this passion with other people who love driving and make my contribution to the world’s largest collection of epic routes.”

So where will 2020 take you? Over undiscovered Alpine passes or along iconic coast roads? Or will you share a favourite route that’s right on your doorstep? ROADS is all about passion for driving and to be honest, it really doesn’t matter whether or not you drive a Porsche. Community members, of whom there are now more than 100,000, are simply united by a hunger for the road.

New functions will be added all the time as part of regular free updates, with feedback and ideas from users actively encouraged to contribute to the app’s continued development. And to provide a little inspiration for your next road trip, ROADS also offers access to an exclusive magazine containing more information about some of the sights along the 2000+ routes already uploaded.

The app is currently available in the App Store for iOS devices and supports Apple CarPlay, with Android compatibility planned for the near future.
