Watch: 2022 BMW M2 fires its way around the Nürburgring

It's sounding good!

9w ago

Development for the 2022 BMW M2 has reached its final stages as we can see from these tests around the Nürburgring.

In this video, we get to hear it for the first time and it sounds as fruity as it should do. We don't exactly know what engine will be powering the new M2 but it will either be an upgraded version of the latest M240i's 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six or a detuned version of the twin-turbo six-cylinder in the current G80 M3. Either way, it'll be a belter of an engine.

The prototype development model seen in this video is wearing a special antenna on its roof which is probably helping the passenger to monitor what's going on with the car. Other visual differences we can see include a new front fascia panel with small nostrils which will please many BMW design haters.

Other than that, very few details have been leaked regarding the newest M2, but it won't be long until BMW unveils it to the world.
