So the Corvette ZR-1 has 755 horsepower from the factory which sounds like enough but it's not. Thankfully the fine folks at Hennessey have already extracted 100 more horsepower from the Corvette's LT5 V8.

So you have 1,600 horsepower worth of Corvettes, what do you do next? Well you send those things down a drag strip, for science. As it turns out 100 horsepower is a big deal and the race results show.

When it comes to the Corvette ZR-1 I never thought it needed more horsepower. Then I saw this video and I have to say, I've changed my mind. Let's give that sucker 200 more horsepower, this is America after all.

    • That may be true for older corvettes but the C7 is very impressive. Maybe it’s time you reset your expectations of the Vette and drive one?

  • They didn't extract anything. They bolted on a supercharger and added more air. If they extracted something it means theys make the engine more efficient with a different intake or exhaust or valves or something else to make it pump Air more efficiently. Adding a supercharger is not extracting.

Really the hundred horsepower difference isn't as responsible for the Gap as the torque is off the line. That's supercharger probably helps really well with the torque
