Watch a Daihatsu Feroza take on Australia's toughest burnout competition

And it drops one of the most insane skids of the year

For burnout fans (aka every Australian), the Burnout Masters competition at the annual Summernats event is the highlight of the year. This years field was the most competitive we've seen, and included a particularly bonkers LS-powered Daihatsu Feroza named "HAMMERTIME".

Going up against some local legends including LYNCHY, WARBIRD and S1CKO, HAMMERTIME managed to qualify in the top 10 for the final on Sunday.

    Watch his face-melting burnout below:

The Feroza is clearly far from stock and runs an LQ9 V8 stroked to 403ci. It was given a makeover especially for Summernats 33 including a new custom th400 slip yoke to cope with the hammering that owner Brad Kilby regularly gives it.

The Daihatsu Feroza was sold between 1989 and 2002. The most powerful variant of it's stock engine put out a yawn-inducing 95bhp. It was not particularly well known for performing respectable burnouts.
