Watch a Ferrari FXX K Evo tear up the Nurburgring
The La Ferrari-based track car sounds amazing powering round the GP layout of the Nurburgring.
Ferrari’s XX program often gets forgotten, especially nowadays as the Italian brand is constantly unveiling new models. In fact, by the time you’ve finished reading this, another six models will be on sale. However, track-only monsters such as the FXX K don’t get the respect they deserve.
Last summer, Alexander West, a proud Ferrari XX program member uploaded a video of him behind the wheel of his proud and joy, a Ferrari FXX K Evo at the Nurburgring.
The Ferrari FXX K Evo is an evolution of the La Ferrari-based FXX K. It’s a track only model made exclusively for those rich enough to decide it’s a good idea to give the Prancing Horse millions of dollars only to use the car whenever a Ferrari dedicated track day takes place.
The car features a 6.3-litre V12 coupled to an electric motor. In total, the powertrain sends a gut-wrenching 1,036hp and 900Nm to the rear wheels. Compared to the standard FXX K, the Evo variant gets heaps more downforce thanks to a reworked rear wing, additional canards and an extended splitter at the front. It also benefits from a slight drop in weight.
Aside from Ferrari’s XX program, McLaren also have a track-only version of its P1 hypercar. Like the FXX K Evo, it features the high-tech hybrid gizmos of its road-going twin, though it doesn’t quite have the same screaming V12 of the Fezza. The P1 GTR has a 3.8-litre V8 producing 986hp. With a more traditional design, the McLaren looks more like a racecar whereas the FXX K Evo is an out-and-out spaceship.

If you ever get the chance to see these beauties hit the track, do so. You won’t be disappointed. They’re glorious! 👏🏻
I went to a Ferrari Challenge event at Barcelona a few years ago expecting to see them... But they weren't there. Still got to see a Pista race a Spéciale though!
Fortunately for me, both the Ferrari Challenge and the F1 Clienti program were at the track at the same time that day. That's basically the stars aligning for my case because normally they don't go together very often.
That's the reason why...
