Watch: a journey back in time with this Ford Falcon review... in 1980

An interesting perspective

YouTube is a dangerous place. You start with a review of the new Timex Q watch and end up watching car reviews filmed before you were born. In this instance, the late Peter Wherrett, Australian racing driver and automotive journalists, reviews a 1980 Ford XD Falcon... in 1980.

I think this is an interesting exercise and case study. As car people, we probably watch car reviews on a daily basis and apart from The Trio, they're mostly coming from young rich kids that keep shouting all over the place, saying words like "insane" and "lit" once a second.

This is a bit different. You'll notice the absence of annoying interludes or exclamations like "er" or "well", no rich vocabulary and, bliss, what appears to be a Digital Seiko. But that's a different conversation altogether, I guess.

  • ah,the good old days. Kids today are spoilt for choice. I watched this show when i could. No downloading or series recording , just good old remember to be home in time to watch it.
