At Car & Driver's “Lightning Lap” event, the McLaren Senna set a record-breaking lap time at Virginia International Raceway of 2:34.9. The car maintained an average pace of 134.5 mph around "America's Nürburgring", and topped out 172.9 mph.
This run beat the previous record holder, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, by a full 2.9 seconds. It beat the second-place McLaren 600LT Spider by 6.9 seconds. Read Car & Drivers account, and see all the cars involved, below.
