Watch as golfer hits ball through Ferrari LaFerrari
What could possibly go wrong?
The Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta is Ferrari's ultimate open top hypercar, featured in the Holy Trinity alongside the Porsche 918 and McLaren P1. Because the $2.2M LaFerrari Aperta is limited to a mere 210 model production run, it is very rare and sought-after. Most LaFerrari Aperta owners don't take their car for a drive on a daily basis, let alone do anything that could result in damage to this stunning vehicle.
However, professional golfer and LaFerrari Aperta owner Ian Poulter did the exact opposite when he hit a golf ball directly through the open windows of his Aperta, seemingly on the first try. Don't be quick to criticize Poulter, because he is one of the top players on Tour and has 17 professional wins under his belt. To make the challenge even more difficult, Poulter kept the roof up. Meaning, if he didn't execute his wedge shot correctly, it could easily chip the paint or dent the car resulting in thousands of dollars in repairs.
Poulter's Aperta is one of the ultra rare Ferraris in his collection. Poulter owns a 288 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo, and a hardtop LaFerrari, to name a few. The anxiety inducing clip below is one of two videos where he hits the ball through the windows. Poulter has also hit through the cabin of his Mercedes AMG GT63S four door, worth as much as $200,000.
