Watch as Lego build a life-size Ferrari F1 car
Lego gives the world a life-size version of the Ferrari SF70H F1 car as driven by Vettel and Kimi
After giving the world the brick based life-sized McLaren 720S, Lego has continued to keep giving in brick based form with this life-sized replica of the 2017 Ferrari F1 car.
The real life Ferrari SF70H has taken Sebastian Vettel to the top of the drivers’ standings this year with Kimi Raikkonen mumbling his way into fifth at the time of writing. This Lego version though probably won’t be able to match its real world counterpart as it’s as very a static model, which is pretty much the same as Luca Badoer driving a Ferrari F1 car.
Lego has released this video which shows you how this F1 car was designed and built. It all started with a metal sub frame before the car was built around it brick by brick. In total this painstaking process involved a total of 349,911 bricks which is a lot.
All of this plastic brick action weighs in at 567kg which is not exactly F1 light. if you think you’ve ever taken your time to build a Lego model then don’t feel so bad. The creation of this model took 844 hours to develop followed by 750 hours to build, which is about 64 workdays if you worked non-stop for 24 hours a day.
