Watch Australia's fastest Falcon make 2048 horsepower on the dyno

The big guns come out at Summernats Horsepower Heros

The RIPSS Falcon was the first XR6 Turbo to run a 7 second quarter mile but now wears the crown for the highest horsepower 6-cylinder engine ever seen at Summernats. The 3.7 litre Barra engine pumped out 2048 rear-wheel horsepower on the Mainline Pro Hub dyno on Friday at Summernats 33.

Watch the dyno pull below, courtesy of Street Machine TV:

Amazingly, the record-breaking engine still uses the stock head and engine block, which handles 50 psi of boost from a 110mm Precision turbo. The build was inspired after owner Maria Passo from Dyno-mite Performance lost her drivers licence for 2 years.

Other modifications include a forged bottom end with a billet crankshaft, a 2 speed Preston Automatics powerglide transmission and a carbon fiber tailshaft. Maria is especially proud that the car is 100% street driven.

    • Luckily the under carriage has mostly been replaced. That would explain why it has lasted so long!
