Watch: Bear Grylls and the New LEGO Defender
Bear Grylls, the former SAS serviceman, world-famous survivalist, TV personality and now Land Rover’s Global Ambassador, returns to our screens with a “little” adventure.
This video shows the survivalist’s LEGO minifig double trying to beat a hungry crocodile in catching a fish (single-handed), with the latest LEGO Technic Land Rover Defender.
The LEGO Defender featured in the film was released in September, based on the upcoming 2020 Land Rover Defender:
LEGO Technic 42110 Range Rover Defender measures over 8 inchs (22cm) high, 16 inches (42cm) long and 7 inches (20cm) wide, and includes 2,573 pieces.
It comes with a new transmission system has two levers for engaging high or low ratios and a selector for changing gear – LEGO Technic’s most sophisticated gearbox yet.
And as you may notice from the video, the LEGO Defender also include many accessories such as working winch, removable roof rack with storage box, pannier, ladder and traction mats.
Developed in partnership with Land Rover and launched alongside the New Defender at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the 2,573-piece model combines the boundless creativity of LEGO with New Defender’s instantly recognisable silhouette and unrivalled capability.
Joe Sinclair, Director of Branded Goods and Licensing at Jaguar Land Rover, said: “The Land Rover Defender and LEGO brand are both iconic across the world, and the launch of New Defender felt like the perfect time to bring them together. The level of detail and engineering that has gone into creating this LEGO model perfectly reflects the work of our own designers and engineers who have been so dedicated to bringing a motoring icon back for the 21st century.”
And the prices will be 199.99 USD, 179.99 EUR, 159.99 GBP.
So, all looks interesting and promising. But let's get back to the video, does any bit of that film remind you of this scene?
Yeah, just something we'll never forget.
