Watch: Clarkson Explain TVR's Strange V8
TVR is a company known for shooting for the stars and eventually ending up somewhere near Saturn. In the 1980s TVR used the tried and true Rover V8 but when the Cerbera debuted they decided to make their own V8.
In a Top Gear review by none other than Jeremy Clarkson, we're introduced to TVR's made home brewed V8 known as the Speed 8. This unique V8 used a 75-degree angle between cylinder banks which is very unique compared to the usual 90 degrees. One notable example of this 75-degree configuration can be found the NSX's V6. To add to the uniqueness this V8 is also a flat-plane crank like a Ferrari.
In the new Cerbera, the speed 8 engine produced 360 horsepower. This made the Cerbera very fast according to Clarkson and nothing beats a flat plane V8 singing to redline.
