That V12 sound, though...

When it comes to making a brand new car from the ground up, a lot of testing is needed to ensure the process is done correctly and without missing a beat. This is why Gordon Murray – creator of the GMA T.50 – likes to test his cars himself, as a seasoned driver and designer.

In this video from Gordon Murray Automotive's YouTube channel, you see the man himself driving a prototype T.50 around the Top Gear test track as both businesses are based in the same town of Dunsfold.

The main takeaway from this video, however, is the pure raw sound the T.50's 3.9-litre, 654hp Cosworth V12 engine produces. It is capable of revving all the way up to 12,100 rpm and therefore sounds absolutely phenomenal – better than Aston Martins Valkyrie which can 'only' rev to 11,100 rpm.

When it is finally released, the GMA T.50 will set customers back an astonishing £2.5 million, but you must remember it is essentially the second generation of the McLaren F1 – so it's probably worth the price.

  • Probably won’t be a popular opinion but this looks like a Chinese knock-off McLaren F1. All the proportions that were soo right on the F1 are slightly off, the lights are too big, that fan ok the back is a mess… such a missed opportunity
