The tiny city-state of San Marino is one of Europe's biggest curiosities. There are many odd quirks about San Marino, but one of them is something that you absolutely wouldn't expect. At one point in the 1930s, San Marino actually had a railway that connected it to Rimini on the Italian coast! This video from the brilliant travel vlogger The Tim Traveller explains the history of this odd railway, how the railway ended thanks to the actions of the allied forces during World War II and how a group of enthusiasts managed to not only restore some of the track and an old railway carriage but also get that section of the railway running again!
