Watch the Bugatti Chiron hit its 261mph top speed (limiter)
Bugatti might not be looking to do a top-speed run, doesn't mean others aren't
Bugatti might not be currently interested in doing a top speed in their famed hypercar the Chiron, all we know for sure right now is that the car is currently not able to hit 300mph due to tire limitations and that its top speed is 'limited' to 261mph (420km/h).
The 261mph speed limiter makes the Chiron about 6.856mph slower than the Veyron Super Sport's 267.856mph speed record, more importantly it puts it some 23.3mph behind the Koenigsegg Agera RS top speed record, where it managed a staggering 284.3 mph (457.5 km/h).
However even if the top speed run isn't officially a priority over at Bugatti, the ease with which the Chiron seems to reach it's 261mph speed limiter suggest the car and it's quad turbocharged W16 8.0 litre engine has more to give.
