Watch tuning legend Akira Nakai build a stunning RWB Porsche
Akira Nakai is a legendary name in the history books of car culture as the founder of Porsche tuning company RAUH-Welt Begriff (RWB). His company is renowned for converting older Porsche 911 models, such as the 993 and 964, into widebody masterpieces. During October last year, Nakai built his first Norwegian RWB Porsche and named it "Ruri" after the Porsche's lapis lazuli-like colour.

The conversion process was documented in a 4K resolution, 10-minute video that showcases the amount of effort and craftsmanship required to convert a Blue Turquoise 993 Porsche 911 into Ruri. Note that the vehicle's engine was unfinished during filming so there are no rolling shots.
What is the order process?
RWB's website states that the customer first decides the specifications of their build and wires the required costs to Nakai's account in Japan. How much you ask? A VinWiki interview with RWB-crafter, Bryson, reveals that the entry price is around $30,000 for the conversion alone. Once purchased, the kit's materials are shipped to either a RWB workshop or your desired build location over the course of 2-3 months. Nakai travels around the world in order to create the customer's vehicle, which as of March 2016 was "almost a year" of waiting. Regardless, the wait appears to be worth it.
