Watching a straight 6 being dismantled, rebuilt & fired up is very satisfying

and it sounds so good fired up...

Watching anything being completed is very satisfying. This is no less, this is 10 minutes of time well spent being calm and very satisfied watching a straight six being rebuilt. Yeah, they show everything being done to it - from when it was brought into the shop till it was up and running again.

This is not a Porsche, it is a 50s Chevy Stovebolt 6 engine that gets rebuilt. It belongs to an 1950 Chevrolet 3600 that actually was running but in bad condition. The guys at Hagerty then get it to the shop, dismantle the engine, rebuilt it completely and then get it fired up. It is a sweet sound, which makes it more satisfying than it already is.

  • Love it! Maybe I'll do a time lapse when I get my motor out!

    • Yeah that would be awesome....just out of curiosity what is the motor?

    • Well I have a few all at different stages but the one that stills need taken out and gone through is a 7.3L IDI out of my 91 F-350. I have a VQ35HR that is already fully torn down and the 3.4L M96 is already back in my 911.
