Moores Motorsports is a Youtube channel that features lots of different content related to automotive. While this video was filmed in July of 2015 I though it would be fun to share this with you guys. We all know that it is exciting to see two cars drag race on the street. It seems that after a car show they decided to film this video and it is sure funny to see what happens.

It begins with a Porsche 911 GT3 RS (997.1) reving its 3.8 L flat-6. The Shelby Cobra alongside it roars its engine as well and it is exciting to see unfold and makes for an epic video. As they rev and rev, Somebody by Natalie La Rose is playing in the background. Once the light strikes green, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and Cobra launch. Not only does the Shelby Cobra get ahead off the launch, but the Porsche 911 GT3 RS has its clutched smoked. As they accelerate you just see smoke continue from the housing.

After the smoke stops the Porsche 911 GT3 RS slows down and the Cobra appears to have one the race after dominating the 911 GT3 RS. This video is hilarious and fun to watch at the same time. All credit goes to Moores Motorsports for the video.

    • Reminds me of going to a club race at Hockenheimring. One of the last races was finals for modified Porsche 911's. Most the cars were street legal, but the first couple cars were dedicated race cars. While the cars were waiting to start the race the Mercedes Pace car developed a problem so the officials scrambled to find an alternate. An owner of a 427 Cobra offered up his car as the stand in Pace car. It took about 15min for the officials to get a yellow light bar tie wrapped to the roll hoops. Once everyone was ready the Cobra lead the pack of 911's off on the warm up lap. I was standing on the pit wall just behind the first row. As the cars took off the rumble from the Cobra left most the crowd in aww. (it had license plates, but pretty sure for the race he was running straight pipes, like most the cars on track) Even with some of the Porsches being dedicated race cars that Cobra could be felt and heard over the field of 911's until it rounded the first corner. Of course as the field came by for the rolling start the sound on the pit wall was absolutely deafening with about 20 Porsche 911s going by WOT just a few feet away. Not a sound could be heard from the Cobra as it took its spot at the end of the Pit lane. I sort of hoped for a safety car yellow just to hear the Cobra race out onto the track again, but no such luck. I love a good club race like that, so much more casual than the professionals, yet some of the cars and drivers are still very impressive.

    • We all know supercars aren't built for drag racing. Fast launches and stuff will destroy them.
