"We don't call it a F*king Skateboard"- Zero Labs on Classic Electric Platform
It is a way we preserve the past and can drive the classics in a new, cleaner and more environmentally friendly way
Skateboard platforms are turning quite popular bases for companies to just attach a frame on the chassis/drivetrain, fit in all the required parts and design bits and bring a new car into the market. Recently, Zero Labs Automotive has released a new Classic Electric Platform and it is not a f**king skateboard. You might say it looks like one, but it is not.

If you are wondering who Zero Labs Automotive are, they are a company out of Los Angeles, California, that re-create classic Broncos and Defenders on an electric platform. They are quite good too, and yes, they are made to order.

The platform houses everything required batteries, motors, controls, suspension and even wheels and a few more bits. So you cannot say it is just a skateboard, it is more, quite a bit more. Now, you must be asking "What all you get?"
Well, the kit includes a 300hp and 243 lb-ft of torque all this comes from a single motor, rear wheel drive which will give you a 200+ mile range from a 85kWh battery pack. The brakes are regenerative braking, the chassis includes sway bars and independent front and rear suspension. There is also full time thermal management and multiple emergency disconnects. you do not have to worry about charging too, it supports AC Level charging.
The options list is where is good stuff is, these are the parts that I recommend getting on the car that you might think of converting. The options include dual motor all wheel drive which is good for 600 hp, a 100kWh battery pack good for 235+ miles, adjusting Fox Racing Shocks or premium air ride suspension, automatic controls for single and dual motor use and high performance Brembo GT brakes (6-piston front and 4-piston rear).
There is also few good things about the Classic Electric Platform. For starters, the platform can be adapted to multiple classic car body styles including 4X4s, muscle cars, classic 2-door coupés, and pickup trucks all these pre 1975. The idea behind is that classics should not rot lying around in the garage and be a pain to take out, but to drive frequently without any hassels.

The second part is that the platform is 2030 Global Mandate Ready, which means down the line you do not have to worry about the legality of the vehicle or the kit's parts. Adam Roe, Founder of Zero Labs says “While people love the detail and quality of our complete classic electric vehicles, we recognized early on that a massive global change is needed now and we could simply never make enough to satisfy classic car lovers’ goals or the 2025-2030 European and U.S. zero-emissions demands. We are offering the same engineering platform developed for our premium rebuilt classic vehicles to help transform classic vehicles without the time and cost of full rebuilds. "
And Lastly, the transformation will take 30 days and Zero Labs Automotive will do it for you, and will even restore the car that will go along with the kit and make it feel as good as new without losing its soul and can be upgraded when the technology improves.
"Vehicles converted on our platforms are upgradable and built to celebrate the spirit of the original vehicle while simultaneously producing a clean, reliable, covert electrical drive system. The result is a clean energy vehicle with the soul of a premium classic." says Roe

The weird thing about all this is, I this a lot more than e-swaps or electric engine swaps and electric crate motors. It is nice to have one thing that does it all for you without having to worry about getting an e-crate engine then batteries that will work with the e-crate and then worry about all the other bits. This is one thing does it all and all you have to do is to give the good people at Zero Labs your classic car that can be compatible, thats all.
