Hello and welcome to Real. Car. Talk. I'm Alex, a 20 something year old who has nothing better to do in his spare time than watch motoring related content on YouTube.
Like most people on DriveTribe, we all share the same passion, driving. The plan for my Tribe is to create a place where anyone can discuss and take part in fun and interesting topics such as first car, dream car, favourite owned car and so on. I think you get the idea.
If you're anything like me, I have the tendency to browse popular motoring websites to expand my knowledge of the motoring world, but every so often I end up coming away overhauled with stats that make not a lot of real sense. BHP and PS? Torque? KG and LB? Yuck. How much simpler would it be if we kept it the same? Possibly not but thats what I want to make my Tribe about. Discussion and entertainment. Pushing the clutter to one side and simply talking about what we all came here to do.
Now to kick things off I thought it would be a good idea to share some of my motoring background. First car? Cozy Coupe. (Ford Fiesta Zetec Mk7.5) Current car? Audi A1 S line Black Edition, or as I call it 'the most uncomfortable car I've ever driven or indeed purchased'. First super car drive? Aston DB9, I didn't even have my full license before I drove one of these, and boy did it live up to my expectations. Did I feel like Bond? Damn straight. Fastest car driven? McLaren 12C, the acceleration was astounding, how an earth the 650S or 675LT can be faster is outstanding. Crashed a car? Sort of. Explain? I may have slightly rear ended a car, apparently it was my fault. Dream car? Audi R8 V10 Plus, the new one. I wasn't too sure about the styling at first, seemed a little to german. Like the designer had nothing but a ruler and a pencil. But seeing and hearing one in London a few months ago changed my thoughts completely. So much in fact I took a visit to West London Audi just to gaze at it. Don't tell me you haven't visited a supercar showroom to get a little closer to your dream car.
So there you have it, an inside into Real. Car. Talk. In the coming days I'll be tearing myself away Christmas present searching and I'll post some sort of, erm, post about something motoring related. Do note that I have no understanding of motorbikes so this is purely for the sit-in-a-seat enthusiast.
