My name is Deanna Isaacs. I'm a Seattleite, automotive journalist, cat guardian and prolific car enthusiast. Pleased to make your acquaintance and thank you for joining the PNW Drivers group!
I got started in cars through my parents, who brought me to car shows and crossed mountains in a Ford Blazer. My husband and I met in Japan and drove sports cars all across the Aomori prefecture in a Toyota Supra and a Toyota MR2.
In the two years I've been a professional automotive journalists, I've attended SEMA and the LA Auto Show, gotten the priviledge to review new cars and driven supercars through deserts. But it's the people that make it a pleasure: from the tinkerer to the OEM enthusiast, it's YOU who make this automotive world what it is.
You don't have to be from Washington, Oregon or Idaho to join, as this is not just for the area, but for when we localites go abroad or others come here. Welcome all makes, all models, all years and all peoples.
Three of our four completely impractical cars.
Today, our garage includes a '96 Miata MX-5 M-Edition (signed by Tom Matano and stunning in Starlight Mica Blue), a '93 Toyota MR2 Targa Turbo, a '68 Triumph GT6 and a '59 Triumph TR3. All two-seater roadsters. Nothing is practical.
The MX-5, MR2, and GT6 all drive (though the latter needs some rear bumper work from an accident during the previous owner's ownership and a driver side floor pan that suffers from being a Triumph...). The TR3 needs an engine rebuild (already got all the parts) but has an immaculately clean body that should get a new paint.
As a syndicated automotive columnist at The Auto Reporter (www.theautoreporter.com), I also get to drive some fun and new stuff. From the mundane to the insane, like a Rolls-Royce Dawn around Mt. Hood.
From the 2016 Super Bowl Sunday drive with the Seattle Cars & Coffee group.
This isn't just for me to find good drives (Chuckanut near Bellingham is a good start) or find the good rides (all of them), our platform is meant to be a place to discuss what you will in the automotive world.
No politics and no BS, just good automotive banter.
Be welcome. For this is a home for all friends of autos - trucks, cars, vintage, rods, drifters, builders, buyers, collectors and everything under the sun. Autos cross borders, traverse mountain trails and bring us all closer together.
So... Let's Drive! :D See you on the road!!
