It’s around 100degrees in the baking Nevada sunshine on the day after the Sema Show, where we decided to once again meet up with our good friends at Hauk Design. Kenny and Vianna who are the owners of Hauk Design and creators of this insane 1948 Willys Jeep have in the last three years, created some of the most jaw-dropping and creative Jeep projects we have ever seen at the Sema Show. We have been fortunate to have spent time with them, to photograph their last two projects, which now includes this wild west outlaw you see in these photographs.

Read all about their previous projects at the two links below,

So how does someone come up with such inspirational projects that are fused with styles from an area of history? That comes down to the brilliant and out there mind of Kenny Hauk. But before he started created such ground breaking projects, his dream was selling Jeep parts from his garage and little did he know over 10 years ago, that his path would take him to incredible heights.

What I mean is that when a huge TV channel by the name of History Channel take notice of your work and create a TV show about your passion, it is clear that you are doing something very unique in the world. So where does kenny get his ideas from? Well, he spends some time at antique fairs in his local area and visiting vintage shops that house goods from a time gone-by.

His last two projects were themed around past war aircrafts to a steampunk/MadMax themed rat look, which by the way were pulled off in style! and this one is equally executed in the same fashion and the theme this time is the Wild, Wild West. Once again the beautiful Ileana Cardenas was all dressed to kill in a cowgirl outfit…the perfect combination of raw tough style with an edge of sexiness thrown in.

Talking to Kenny, he explains how the project came about and finished in just 6 weeks!

“This 1948 Willys Pickup was built as a tribute to the Old West and the iconic guns from that era. The truck cab features an eight-inch stretch, with a three-inch chop. The engine bay has also been stretched eleven inches to allow room for the twelve valve Cummins power plant”.

And this is only a few modifications that were adapted to the Jeep, with a list of amazing details applied to every part from the superbly hand engraved filigree details by Hernan from Engrave-it to an aged antique walnut bed by Ben Messler.

Take a look inside at just how much attention to detail has been applied from the door cards with Sheriff badge and gun belt complete with bullets…pure genius!

Gear shift revolver! Now that is smokin!

That dashboard is simply a work of art and houses the gauges.

Epic wild west guns were used as the door handles! Now that is genius!

That rear is just so awesome and with the twin wheel combination, takes the Jeep to knew heights.

Again, some mind-blowing engraved work by the guys at Engrave-it. A job well done.

Everywhere you look on this Willy’s you are guaranteed to find more detail, even in the bed area. No area has been left untouched.

This Jeep has so many details and below is a list of the unique customisations that were applied by Kenny and his team.

The level of craftsmanship that has been applied blew us away just like the previous projects and one of things we love about Kenny’s projects, is that they drive and he uses them for what they were intended for. So it was no wonder that a photo shoot on the Nevada sand dunes was in order. So Kenny took the Jeep for a spin, so we could capture some action.
