Daniel Ricciardo - 2020

As the interesting 2020 Formula 1 season comes to an end, we all have nothing to do but wonder whos going where and whos leaving. Many contracts have be confirmed, and also many rumors and speculations have been spread.

We cant help but wonder who is leaving and what new rookie is coming to the world wide sport. This past week in Germany many announcements have been circulating. As Nico Hulkenberg returned to replace the sick Lance Stroll for the German Grand Prix, us fans had to be asking what's going to happen to Nico's career in the future as well. With Nico finishing P8 from P20, there's absolute no reason why no team is signing him. Luckily, there's been some rumors that Nico might get signed, he has been talking to many teams and many teams have been talking to him too.

Red Bull's Alexander Albon has also been under some fire, with him underperforming and getting beaten by his teammate many times, there has been a lot of questioning about his certain position. Alex has been many seconds slower than his teammate Max Verstappen, and with the certain comment made at the Eifel Grand Prix, people are wondering if he is actually staying. Alex is good enough to be in Formula 1, but in my opinion he isn't good enough to be on the second best team.

Red Bull has explained Nico Hulkenberg could be an option for the team in 2021, after the team reveled that they even spoke to the German while they were at the Nürburgring. Which keeps predictions and speculations high. Could Nico be racing next to Max next year? I think he could be, Nico is a consistent score pointer and has a lot of experience in this sport, I think that certain move to Red Bull would be great for him.

Formula 1 has many score pointers, and we couldn't forgot about the biggest one. Sergio Perez is also out of a seat for next year, due to 4 Time World Champion, Sebastian Vettel moving to Aston Martin next year for 2021 and replacing Checo. Now Checo has been in F1 for many years, and he has also helped Racing Point become what it is now, but sadly Perez was dropped for next year. Although Checo was lied to, this season has not been bad at all. Checo has been scoring well, and many teams have been showing interest in the Mexican. There are many rumors Sergio will be going to Haas, or maybe even Red Bull.

Nico and Checo are both very consistent, experienced and well deserving drivers, they both deserve a seat, rumors have it that Checo might also be moving to William's. Nonetheless, Williams has their driver lineup confirmed for 2021 with their current drivers, George Russell and Nicholas Latifi. And now with Haas reconsidering their 2021 driver line up, we might see Nico or Checo racing with the American team next year. Romain and Kevin are not confirmed to be driving at Haas in the near future yet.

The important aspect that we cannot forgot is that Formula 2 also has many talented and young drivers who are looking to move to up to Formula 1. Such as Mick Schumacher, who is also leading the Formula 2 world championship, Callum Illot, ‎Yuki Tsunoda, Robert Shwartzman etc. Mick and Callum were given a chance to practice at the German Grand Prix, with Mick driving with Alfa Romeo and Callum with Haas. Sadly, that moment never happened due to the unfortunate weather circumstances. Currently, F2 driver Yuki Tsunoda will be having the chance to practice with Red Bull Alpha Tauri in the near future.

Speculations keep rising, fans are wondering if Yuki might get a seat at AlphaTauri next year, or even Red Bull. Since AlphaTauri hasn't confirmed their driver lineup yet, that has lead to more rumors. Rumors such as, Daniil Kvyat being dropped, or Pierre moving to Renault. Even though Renault (next year renamed as Alpine) has already locked in their driver lineup, keeping Esteban Ocon, and returning with 2 Time World Champion Fernando Alonso, who is replacing future Mclaren driver Daniel Ricciardo.

6 Time World Champion, Lewis Hamilton, hasn't been confirmed either, but I don't think this is something to stress over. Lewis will probably be signing with Mercedes, but his years are coming up the older he gets. Of course he has never been better, but we still don't know what lewis has planned for the future. Yet, his teammate Valterri Bottas has signed with Mercedes for only one year. No one knows what will happen.

"but whilst i'm older than these guys, i feel as young as them, at least in spirit. im still very much a kid when i'm off camera. that will probably change when i start seeing grey hairs, but i'm good for now

Alfa Romeo might keep Kimi and they might bring Mick, Haas might bring a new rookie or they might have Nico or Checo. Red Bull might sign Nico or Tsunoda. No one will know for sure right now, but the days are counting down, and the latest of finding out the 2021 lineup will be probably before Istanbul.

With Mclaren driver Carlos Sainz moving to Ferrari next year, Daniel Ricciardo going to Mclaren, Vettel going to Aston Martin and Alonso returning, 2021 might be an very intriguing season and driver lineup.
