Was once charged £400 for a missing spare wheel from a rental car company, I called the local Citroen dealer who confirmed my suspicions that the car did not come with a spare wheel.
I worked for four years for Enterprise and National Rental car. I can say with 100% certainty the worst part of Rental car companies is the customers they have to deal with
My wife and I both had a rentals since June 1st paid for by Ford, due to the airbag recall. She got a Passat, I got a Chevy Malibu, one of the worst cars I have ever driven. In the middle of summer the “Eco” air conditioning stopped blowing cold air anytime it got above 85 outside, black car, black dash, black seats and I have asthma, I called the rental company, they said they had no more cars, and unless the car stopped running I was out of luck. Ended up calling the corporate office, they called the local rental office, and told the corporate office, they weren’t swapping out any more cars to the “Ford airbag people”, because Ford is taking all their cars. Great customer service.
On a side note,
Ford is paying $1300 a month to this rental company for my car alone with my wife’s rental $2600, that’s $13,000 total so far, way more than both of our cars are worth combined. I know there was at least 15 other people in town that had rentals paid for by Ford.
Thank you for joining us today Keegan! I don't suppose it's possible to get a R-34 rental such as the one you wrote about recently. Anything less than that might be considered and awful rental car?
No. Especially not in here in the U.S. but my family has had decent rentals in the past but we’ve also had really bad ones. The worst being a Ford Focus sedan. It was loud, uncomfortable, and had very poor visibility. It’s a car that my whole...

They always seem to smell of smoke
Yep and with another overpowering scent that they tried to cover it up with
Like a body lol
What I fear is that I will always get an awful car. One that just isn’t a good car from factory.
