Ever wondered what kind of cars rugby players drive? Here a gallery of famous athletes and their cars.
Rugby is a team sport that unlikely football is played by real men, quoting the words of a famous journalist… guess who? Anyway on the holy field of a rugby stadium, these players, usually of the size of a two doors wardrobe, fight, sweat and roll in the mud, pursuing a oval ball. It's basically a testosterone party, emotional, rough and harsh, which usually end with a few pints down at the pub.

These kind of career, needs a massive physical form for don't succumb at the hard contact this sport entail, so going straight to the goal area, which kind of cars these huge athletes drives? It's very hard to figure a six feet tall bloke like Seán O'Brien drive around in a small coupé as an Alfa Romeo 4C or in a low and sporty car like a Lamborghini Huracàn… in fact he drive a Kia Sorento.
As you may imagine there's a good amount of tough and spacious Range Rover, among their owners there are players like James Haskell (England), George North ( Ireland ) and the Welsh Jamie Heaslip.

LAwrence Dallaglio with his Ford Capri Mk1 modified by Chop Shop : London Garage
Former captain of England team and word cup winner Lawrence Dallaglio, used to drive a Ford Capri, the famous fastback coupé designed by the same man who worked on the Ford Mustang project, the Capri, shared the same components of the Ford Cortina Mk2 and was supposed to be the Mustang’s European equivalent. Dallaglio Capri, was modified in the show Chop Shop : London Garage.
New Zealand rugby legend Jonah Lomu, was one of the greatest player of all times, he sadly passed out in 2015, and was a bit of a car lover. In his collection where was a Nissan GT-R R34, a Nissan Pathfinder with a 100k dollars sound system, a Hummer and a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro.

In 2011 Lomu visited Italy, promoting the charity event “Friends for Japan”, he caught the occasion to visit two temples of italian automotive history like Ferrari and Lamborghini, there he had the chance to have a drive in the Gallardo Superleggera and also to sit behind the steering wheel of The Aventador LP 700-4. About Lamborghini he said:
“ The feeling you get in a Lamborghini and the adrenaline rush at every bend are unbelievable! It's an extreme but comfortable car! “

English premiership player Anthony Watson is the owner of a Maserati Ghibli (M175). Watson who owned a few Germans cars, like a BMW X6 Sport, a BMW 420 D and a Mercedes-Benz A180 cdi, apparently succumbed at the charm of this Italian luxury saloon car, which mix drive comfort and style.

Simon Zebo, Irish rugby union player, is also a BMW brand ambassador, among his cars a X5 and an i8, the eco friendly sport car from the electric sub brand of BMW.

Italian Rugby Player, Lo Cicero is the owner of a Maserati GranTurismo S, and he claim it is a perfect car for daily drives, also the Italian Prop took part to the Mille Miglia Race driving his father 1953 Maserati A6GCS.
