What do you think of the Mansory Bugatti Chiron?
I would like to start by saying plainly and simply, that I have always been an avid hater of Mansory and everything they do.
I always think they ruin what is already a perfectly beautiful car. And now they have taken on the Bugatti Chiron.
The Chiron, in my eyes, is an excellent piece of design which has been elegantly crafted from humble French beginnings, but I'm not sure why Mansory have done what they have done.
For years, Mansory have been taking Bugattis, Lamborghinis and even Rolls Royces to see if they can improve them. As you will see, it is a very 'Marmite' thing to do. Except it's so Marmite that it's the same as Mr. Bean dipping twigs in Marmite to pass them off as Twiglets... it's that bad.
What they have essentially done is take a 'standard' (if there's such a thing) Chiron and drown it in forged carbon fibre. They call it the 'Centuria'. I was unfortunate enough to see this at the Geneva Motor Show and was in fact so underwhelmed that I didn't even take a picture. Instead I went to sit in a Dacia Dokker for 30 minutes.
I have to admit, the craftsmanship is rather impressive from an engineering perspective and the additional carbon fibre body kit all fits very well. The new wheels look like the ones from the Lamborghini Veneno which I actually don't mind so much but still prefer the original Bugatti ones. Mansory have also increased the size of the air intakes. Yeah, because they needed to be any bigger!
The interior is finished in a rather nice shade of blue to match the brake callipers which I don't mind so much. What I do mind is the quilted style stitching along the side and on the floor mats. I'm pretty sure that has been added. With all this said and done, the price is at a head thumping £4 million ($6.35 million) which is a good million over the standard price of a Chiron. Who is buying this?
