It's too hard to choose, well, probably to me that is, since both can be useful as top speed would help on long straightaways, e.g. the mulsanne straight, but acceleration is better on everywhere else. Some like outright speed, while others like performance and handling.
Of course acceleration and, let's not forget, handling. Top speed is academical, unless you are in Germany, And even though it's legal, one has to be hell of a driver and dare-devil to reach and sustain 250 kmh plus.
I am getting to 200 kmh and over when I am in Germany, but it is bl**dy scary and I am only doing it for few kilometers, just to brag. I would not be able to sustain it for a long period.

Absolutely! My Yamaha Raptor 450 accelerates so hard, I have to hold on for dear life!
