What is it like to own a 450 hp V8 powered garden shed?
You have seen Ed China drive around on his sofa but this man has taken it to a whole new level. Kevin Nicks has built a 450 hp V8 powered shed and it is quite possibly the most ludicrous thing on four wheels.
It is originally based on a Volkswagen 4motion Passat which he had lying around. He decided he wanted to build something but didn't have much money, so came up with this masterpiece. It weighs in at 2 1/4 tonnes which for a garden shed is quite a lot, so I have been told. With this massive weight and the fact it's a shed, come some difficulties. Aerodynamics for example are a bit of an issue when you're trying to carve your way through the air, you just can't in this. It would be like trying to drive a Mercedes G Wagon with a wardrobe on the bonnet.
Kevin says in the video that when you get to about 45 mph it can get a little tricky but it is still manageable. So manageable in fact that the fastest he has ever gone in this is 112 mph which he holds a world record for as the fastest garden shed.
The shed originally started life with a 2.8L V6 but was soon upgraded to a 4.2L V8 from an Audi RS4 which it still has today. It has all quattro running gear too as well as hydraulic suspension so he can lower it at night so that it looks just like a big shed.
Anyway, I'm sure you would rather watch the video than listen to me babble on so here it is. But, I would like to leave you with this. Kevin says in the video that he has a Mercedes S Class, well known for being one of the most comfortable cars on the market, yet he claims this shed is more comfortable on a long journey...
